Breaking News Quake hits Southern Tagalog By Helen Flores Updated February 11, 2009 03:40 PM MANILA, Philippines–A magnitude 2.4 tectonic earthquake jolted parts of the Southern Tagalog region today but there were no reported damage or injuries, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum said the tremor struck at 8:11 a.m. with its epicenter traced at 17 kilometers northeast of Tagaytay City. The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Lipa City and Los Banos, Laguna; Intensity 2 in Calamba, Laguna and Santo Tomas, Batangas; and Intensity 1 in Tanauan City.
