Megaworld, Fil-Estate in P5B Tagaytay project

MANILA, Philippines—Property developers Megaworld Corp. and Fil-Estate Land Inc. have teamed up to develop 1,149 hectares of land in Tagaytay into a world-class tourism-oriented community called Twin Lakes, the companies said in a joint statement.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the companies said that Fil-Estate had just commenced the master-planning of the project, which would offer resort estates overlooking its own private lake and the scenic Taal Lake.

The cost of the initial phases was estimated to exceed P5 billion.

“The entire community will be developed by phases and will become the country’s most integrated tourism estates,” Fil-Estate vice president Sylvia Hondrade said in the statement.

The initial phases of the development will host a luxury hotel, residential villas and condominiums, a shopping village, botanical garden, sports and country club, and plantation estates.

SMDC plans Tagaytay condominium

SM Development Corp., the property unit of the SM Group of retail tycoon Henry Sy, is investing P1.05 billion for a mass housing project in Tagaytay City, documents from the Board of Investments show.

The project in Barangay Tagaytay West, called Wind Residences Towers 1 and 2, involves the development of 22,597 square meters of land and the construction of two 20-story condominium buildings.

ROXAS group investment in TAgaytay

In a bid to boost its real estate business, sugar conglomerate Roxas and Co Inc. is developing 4 property projects worth P1 billion over the next few years.

According to company chairman Pedro Roxas, Roxas and Co. has identified residential, commercial and resort/tourism-related developments.

Roxas and Co. president Francisco Del Rosario Jr. said the company is focusing on the residential segment, which is considered a high-growth area because of the strong demand for housing projects, as well as tourism-related projects such as resorts and hotels.

“We plan to be come one of the major property developers over the next 5 years,” Del Rosario said.

One of the 4 projects in the pipeline is the P300 million high-end residential-resort complex in Tagaytay City. The 6-hectare property will contain a total of 60 open lots and 20 house and lot units to be sold at an initial price of less than P10,000 per square meter.
