Routes to Tagaytay

This page shall tell you the secrets routes (on a private vehicle) going to Tagaytay City from Manila and North of Tagaytay. There seems to be no problem with traveler from the South side of Tagaytay.

PEOPLE SAY TAGAYTAY CITY HAS TRAFFIC JAMS now. Yeah there are. The jams occur only for people who do not know the correct routes. Let them be there. The technique here is to know the hours when the highway is full and hit the highway when the traffic is clear. The usual cause is lunch at One Destination and Sunday Mass at Lourdes Church. High volume of parishioners hit the mass at 830am, that means the road is clear at 9 to 930; then another mass at 10am, filling the road at 11 to 1150am and up to 12 for lunchouts. Avoid this highway by taking the magallanes back roads.

Route 1: From Makati:

VIA South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). This expressway construction is finally finished. The fastest exit will be at Greenfields, then follow the signs goin to Sta Rosa, and Tagaytay. As of March 6, 2012 this is the best route. You can drop by Sta.Rosa market on the way, there’s a “turo’turo” there where you can eat cheap.

If you Exit instead at Southwoods, go through a private subdivision where you will pay toll (P5.00 unless you are a Freemason) then follow the signs. Goin up, you will see the Shell Station, take that left, that’s the MAGUYAM SHORTCUT, just follow the road and at the end at SEAOIL gas station will be on your left, take that left, then a quick right to the next open street, then left at Aguinaldo Hiway by-pass road.

If you miss Southwoods, take the Carmona exit then follow the same directions going to Tagaytay where you will see the Shell Station.

Another exit is Sta. Rosa exit. Don’t take this after 430pm. Employees at Epza will be goin out be then and youll be stuck. If you’re stuck, take a U turn and exit at Greenfields. IF the traffic’s fine, go straight, and you’ll end at TAgaytay City market.

From Manila, you can also take the coastal road. The aguinaldo hiway will lead you straight to Tagaytay City. Traffic build-up usually occurs at SM Bacoor and Imus tollbridge. There are actually roads to detour out of these areas by taking the road at the back of Imus. This is quite complex but actually the roads are quite simple. IF you want to try, you can take a right to Bacoor proper, go straight and it will lead you to …Binakayan….then straight to Amadeo.

Another route from COASTAL ROAD is to take the CAVITEX, pay toll (P58.00) then go straight the highway up to the intersection with an Arc. Left to Gen. Trias, right on the major intersection, you will end at intersection going to Trece, go straight instead taking Amadeo Road, at the is the heart of Tagaytay without traffic.
